Objects in Active Directory (AD) have to be synced and updated to ADManager Plus as frequently as possible for an unobstructed AD management and reporting experience. ADManager Plus triggers different types of sync at different time intervals, including incremental and full data sync to ensure the data in AD matches with the data in its database. The sync type, time interval, and all the other details can be found in the table below.
| Time interval | Full/Incremental | Manual/Automated | Synced Objects | What will happen? |
Basic sync | Every 10 minutes | Incremental | Automated | Users, groups, OUs, computers, and contacts | All AD objects and their key attributes will be automatically synced and updated every 10 minutes. |
Domain sync | Every day at 2am | Full | Automated | Domain information, mailbox related objects, GPOs, etc. | All non-AD objects and their attributes will be automatically synced and updated at 2am everyday. |
Full data sync | Every 30 days (non-business hours) | Full | Automated | Users, groups, OUs, computers, GPOs, and contacts | All AD and non-AD objects and their attributes in the configured domains will be automatically synced and updated once a month. |
Dashboard data sync | Every day at 6am | Incremental | Automated | Dashboard reports | The information displayed in the dashboard reports will be automatically synced and updated at 6am every day. |
Data refresh sync | - | Full | Manual | Exchange servers, LC servers, domain policies, mail recipients, AD objects, dashboard, and other miscellaneous items | This can be triggered by navigating to Domain Settings > Actions > Refresh icon and selecting items to be synced. The selected items will be synced and updated in ADManager Plus. |
Action dependent sync | - | Incremental | Manual | Users, groups, OUs, computers, and contacts | Objects and their attributes will be synced and updated every time a management action is performed on them or whenever a report pertaining to them is generated. |
