Yet another Hotfix to Version 6.0
To all Customers who are using Version 6001 and below, download the hotfix @
http://download.adventnet.com/products/service-desk/91677414/AdventNet_ManageEngine_ServiceDesk_Plus_6_0_0_SP-24_0.ppm to migrate to the latest version.
Thanks to all, who have been patiently waiting for this hotfix.
Important Note 1: I make it a point here to emphasize the fact that the upgrade has to be really tested on a test server before you migrate to the production server. It doesnt mean that we have not tested the hotfix here. It is hard to simulate every customer environment ( I hope everyone will second me on this point
). We have tested the hotfix on a few scenarios. The upgrade issues on these databases have been addressed. Even with all these, we are still facing upgrade issues with few customers. Hence, it is highly recommended that you test it before planning the upgrade for the production server.
Note 2: Customers using MSSQL database cannot use this hotfix directly. A workaround for the same is provided @ http://forums.manageengine.com/forumHome.do?forumGroupId=49000000002007&forumTopicId=49000003329143&
We will soon release a hotfix to fix this issue. [To be more precise, there is one technical issue with the SQL statements used during the upgrade. While MySQL supports it, MSSQL doesnt and hence the upgrade doesnt like :sad: MSSQL database.]
Note 3: DST update : Customers migrating to 6002 will still have to apply the DST Changes as specified @ http://forums.manageengine.com/forumHome.do?forumGroupId=49000000002007&forumTopicId=49000003329141
DST Changes have been done to the direct installation of 6002. If you dont wish to apply the changes as mentioned in the post, you have to first migrate to 6002, take a backup of the data on 6002, install the direct download of 6002, restore the database now. You are all set with the DST changes with these steps.
Instructions to install the hotfix still remain the same, however, to benefit you all, i am listing them here :
1. Shut down ServiceDesk Plus Server.
2. Run the script UpdateManager.bat (UpdateManager.sh for Linux) in the <ServiceDesk_Plus_Home>/bin folder. This opens the Update Manager tool.
3. Click "Browse" to select the Service Pack file (AdventNet_ManageEngine_ServiceDesk_Plus_<Version No>_0_0_SP-x_0.ppm file that you had downloaded) and then click "Install...".
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to apply the Service Pack / Hotfix.
5. Once the upgrade is complete, start ServiceDesk Plus Server.
What's fixed in this hotfix :
* Browser cache need to be cleared manually after upgrade has been fixed.
* When sub-category was chosen as mandatory, Add request was throwing an error is fixed.
* Add Time Entry not shown in request detail page issue is fixed.
* Exception thrown when editing the requester info who was created from new request form is fixed.
* Request Approval link not working in Outlook mail client is fixed.
* In Home under My Summary pending, over due and due today text link not working is fixed.
* When submitting new request from Quick Create form Non English characters were displayed as junk is fixed.
* Request 'Resolution' tab and 'Add Time Entry' button was not working if the Request title contained a single quote is fixed.
* Issue with adding New Subcategory and New Item after upgrade is fixed.
* Technician names in Add Task window was not in Alphabetical order is fixed.
Again, i kindly request all upgrade issues to be reported @ 'support at servicedeskplus dot com' rather than reporting them here. Upgrade issues will be addressed with the highest priority and queue.
