WMI v SNMP - Disk Space Monitoring
Hi All.
I am just about to add disk usage/free monitors to all my servers (some 80 of them) and was wondering what monitoring method was best to use, SNMP or WMI?
They both work, but which would have the least overhead on the system, both the OpManager server and the remote server. Some of my servers are across slow links, so network traffic needs to be considered too.
A feature I think would be great in OpManager is to be able to add Free/Used resource monitors to all physical disks in all servers, and to be able to specify polling and threshold from the quick config wizard.
I think it is going to take me the best part of a day to configure these on our system as it currently stands.
