Wipe stolen laptop or desktops with MDM?
Hello all. I am a little confused about MDM that is offered, whether from inside Desktop Central (we run MSP version) or the standalone MDM Plus. Under this link:
https://www.manageengine.com/mobile-device-management/windows-phone-management.html , it says Windows Phone - but in the first paragraph is says "
Mobile Device Manager Plus provides robust management
support for
Windows Phone 8, 8.1 and 10 versions. With this software, empower your administrators to monitor, manage, audit, and secure official data on your Windows mobile devices. Additionally MDM can also be used for managing
Windows 10 laptops/desktops as well as Windows 10 Surface Pro tablets." So does this mean Windows Phones (alongside iOS and Android) can be wiped but laptops and desktops can only be managed (IE inventory, patches, etc)?
We are trying to find a MDM solution for laptops and yes, even desktops, that allow us to wipe them remotely in the event they are stolen (whether from the coffee shop or if the office gets broken into). Hope this makes sense.
