What can windows 7 do?

I am a pc user but I'm finding that windows 7 isn't as good as I would have hoped. The thing is I know there are many things I can do, but i don't know them. For instance my friend has a mac and the OS is all full of neat stuff such as photo booth and all the other 'flashy' things But i know that windows has similar capabilities and there must be some things you can download for windows 7 as well
right?

Also , with OSX mountain lion out it seems to me that the mac OS seems to update with more features far more frequently than windows. I know windows does update but doesn't it just patch bugs? Where is the list of updates for windows?
