Is there any relation between Products and CI Types (on CMDB)  ? 

When I need to add a new asset (a printer for example), where should I go ?

Should I need to create a new Product and then create a new asset of this product ? Or should I need to create a new CI from CMDB ?

My version is 8.1.0
