Warranty display should be based on purchase/contract date and alert if expired

Want to be able to add a "warranty" and get alerted if the customer tries to log a call after the warranty has expired.
I belive the warranty has been taken over from ServiceDesk I'm guessing that this would be more useful to read Contract Expiry or something similar
