V7 Upgrade Problems

V7 Upgrade Problems

I tried to upgrade Service Desk from v6 to v7. Updated to latest v6 ServicePack 6015 first and that went ok. When I tried to upgrade to v7 I got an error about an invalid column inserting into GeneralConfig.

After investigation the problem appears to be due to SQL Replication.

We have our database in a data centre where all offices can access centrally. We replicate the ServiceDesk database to head office for local reporting (using custom reports developed in house).

The problem is, Microsoft SQL Replication adds a column to tables if there isn't a unique identifier. This is now preventing us from upgrading.

Is there anyway that the upgrade can be done without having to remove every extra column? Can the upgrade package when doing an insert define the columns being inserted?

Or suggest an easy way to remove this column from all the tables.

I tried creating an empty database, starting ServiceDesk to create the default tables then running a restoredata from service desk, but that seemed to fail. So I've reverted back to how it all was to begin with (VMWare snapshots work wonders) and things are back as they were pre-upgrade.
