Using MSSql instead of MYSql?

I am wondering the possibility of using MSSql as the backend database on a remote system instead of using MySql on the same system that the Applications Manager is running on.

Currently we are running Applications Manager on Linux where we'd like to keep it. But in our environment, I'd like to pass the database off to a Database Team to support (in house supported databases are currently Oracle, Sybase, DB2, MSSql, Informix) This would also take some of the load off of the Linux system where Applications Manager is located. Plus it would put us into a more supported mode for our environment and make us (and Applicaitons Manager) look less like a fringe group. Hopefully this would also help bring Applications Manager more respect than by high level management.

This does not look like it is supported. But I am wondering if anyone has accomplished this? (I thought I saw a post but can't find it now.) AdventNet would you help with this at all?
