Use Case: Receive Email / SMS Notifications whenever a user & password is reset using ADManager Plus

We can send an email and/or SMS notifications to the concerned user(s), and if necessary, their managers and IT administrators when user's password is reset, by creating and using an appropriate notification profile in Admin settings.

  1. Click Admin tab. 
  2. Under Custom Settings section in the left navigation pane, select Notification Profile.
  3. To create a notification profile, click on the Create New Profile button on the top right. 
  4. Enter a suitable Profile name and Description in the space provided. 
  5. In Profile criteria section, select Action from the first drop down list, Is from the second drop-down list. 
  6. To set the action, click on the pencil icon. The User Management actions will be displayed by default. Under the General Attributes section, select Reset Password. Select OK. 
  7. Select the pencil icon next to the Notification Template to choose an existing template or choose create new E-mail/SMS/Both template. Click OK. Click Save. 

Note: In the AD Management dialog box, different categories of management actions will be displayed in the left pane. To choose the relevant management actions, click on the preferred option in the left pane  

Steps to create a new E-mail/SMS Template

  1. Click Admin tab.
  2. Under Custom Settings section the left navigation pane, select Notification Profile.  
  3. To create a notification template, click on the Notification Template button on the top right. 
  4. Click Create New Template. 
  5. In the space provided, enter a suitable name and description. 
  6. In the Send Notification Via, select Email/SMS/Both from the drop down list. 
  7. If Email is selected from the drop-down list, enter or choose from the list of available resources to whom the notification mail must be sent (e.g. Username, admin, HR, etc,.). 
  8. Enter a suitable subject for the email and in the message box, enter the body of the email content. You can also specify the details related to the action, such as the domain in which the action was performed, the time at which the action was performed, the technician who performed the action, etc., using the macros listed beside the message field. 
  9. Select the Attachment option, and also the desired format, if you wish to send the notification as attachments. 
  10. If SMS is selected, then enter the phone number(s) to which the notification should be sent. 
  11. Specify the text in the Message field.You can also specify the details related to the action, such as the domain in which the action was performed, the time at which the action was performed, the technician who performed the action, etc., using the macros listed beside the message field. 
  12. Click Save.
