Hi,
Edit: Restore "Cleaning up" is hanging on "Cleaning up redis temp data folder"
Acting in response to this:
Currently the failed installation is on a 2008R2 Server with SQL Server 2012. It is oddly installed in the system root under c:\MangeEngine\DeskTopCentral_Server
My aim has been to move to a new server with a different name/IP and make sure Desktop Central is working. Then rename the server/IP to the name of the old server so the Agents will find the new restored installation
1. Have Installed 2019 Server on new server with different name/ip
2. Installed SQL Server 2012
3. On the failed server ran backuprestore.bat to get a backup
4. Installed on the new server the .exe provided to me by ManageEngine for build 100690. I installed into the same directory as the old installation being c:\MangeEngine\DeskTopCentral_Server
5. Ran changeDBserver.bat to set DB to SQL and database name of desktopcentral
6. On then new server ran backuprestore.bat and started the restore of the backup obtained in stage 3
7. This seemed to complete but hung on "cleaning up." I let this run overnight but it did not finish so stopped the task
8. As instructed tried to first upgrade to 10.1.2119.10. This failed. Clicking view log file gave me a blank window. I checked the log files and there was nothing clear as to the failure
9. Thought I would at least try to start the restored version to see if we had anything but the service keeps crashing
This is impacting seriously on our environment as we use Desktop Central for many core activities.
My initial queries would be:
1. To do the restore should the new server be the same name/ip
2. Could there be an issue with the new OS. I notice in the log files the software picks up the OS version
