Request:
Update the Task Actual Start Datetime and Actual End Datetime based on the entries added to work log as it happens.
This will save critical time so we are not having to update the work log and then go back and also update the task. Overtime this is a huge time saver.
If there is a way to do this let me know ASAP.
Example:
The task may or may NOT have a Start datetime or End datetime value yet. Doesn't matter.
When the technicians alter the work log via (add / edit or delete) the start and end datetime for the associated TASK should automatically be updated with the earliest Start datetime and the Latest datetime in the Work Log as a whole or at least give an option to make it happen.
So if there were 4 entries added or edited or one was deleted in the work log each time a change has taken place there would be some sort of trigger that scans the work log entries and pulls the earliest start datetime and latest end datetime and update the tasks actual start and actual end datetime.
Since this may not be desired by everyone perhaps there could be a ServiceDesk Plus option called "Auto Update Task Start / End Datetime when updating Work Log?".
Or perhaps a button on the Work Log to allow the technician to flow up the values.
I think a system option or user option would be best.
Again this would be a huge time saver as I have to do this ALL the time and it waste so much of my time that I consider looking for other product options.
I did see a similar request from years ago, but the ticket assigned to it is no longer to be found so looks like it just dropped off radar.
Thank you.
