Upcoming change in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud

Upcoming change in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud

Dear Users,

We’re pleased to share an important announcement about the upcoming change in ServiceDesk Plus Cloud. Below is a brief run-through of the same.

Upcoming Change: Accessing Our Application

We’re updating the way you sign in to our application to improve security and provide a more consistent sign-in experience. These changes will be rolled out in phases.

Phase 1 (expected by end of October)

  • Adding or editing custom service URLs based on the ServiceDesk Plus Cloud domain (e.g., helpdesk.sdpondemand.manageengine.com) will no longer be allowed. You can use the existing domain.

  • You can delete existing subdomains.

  • We recommend moving to an organization-owned custom domain for long-term use.

Phase 2 (about a month after Phase 1)

  • Existing ServiceDesk subdomains (e.g., helpdesk.sdpondemand.manageengine.com) will automatically redirect to your organization’s official access domain.

  • If no custom domain is set, users will be redirected to the global ServiceDesk URL (sdpondemand.manageengine.com). From there, they can enter their email and continue to sign in.

  • Old ServiceDesk subdomain links will continue to work for up to 6 months after this release to give time for transition.

What This Means for You

  • You may notice a different URL when signing in.

  • Your usual login credentials will still work.

  • Any links in emails sent from ServiceDesk will also use the new global URL or your organization’s official access domain.

  • The sign-in page may not display your organization’s logo or name unless you are using your custom domain.

Note : All upgrades and feature releases, will be in-service and there won't be any downtime or service interruption.

Stay tuned for more updates!!! We will update here once these upgrades are unwrapped in live

Please share your thoughts/queries/feedback.

Update on 25.10.2025
Phase 1 changes in above mentioned post have been released.

SAML redirection for single sign-on will be disabled for service domain URLs,  to be released by Nov 10 or mid of Nov. To continue with SAML authentication, users must enter their email address on the account login page.
The login flow for custom domains will remain unchanged.

Thanks and regards,

Ramyaa Raj
