Just trying to guage if other people also have issues with assets having to have a unique name. There are other fields which could be unique e.g. asset tag or serial number field.

 

For me it makes sense as when I want to view assets associated to a user it would be a lot easier to see 'Laptop, Phone, USB Stick' rather than '01234, 056324, 015987' or 'USB Stick1' etc
