We have a number of requests that were incorrectly entered with just a Contact Name, and no associated account.
I have now tried to associate an Account with the Request, by:
1) Editing the request and adding an Account, but when I hit save, it returns to the editing screen with no errors(I expect it to return to the view screen). However it DOES update the account, because if I got to either Account, or Contact and review this contact/Account, they are updated there.
2)Editing the Account and/.or Contact first, neither updates the original request.
It seems that once the request is created, it stores the Account/Contact information. Even showing the "View" tab of the request does not help. I seem to recall that in a previous version (pre 7.5) There were two icons to the right of the Contact name, one of which allowed these details to be refreshed form the Contact/Accounts tables.
Edit:Actually it was a "Check Now" option, and that is still available on some requests and not others?
Also, when I now click on the "User Info" icon to the Right of the Name, it displays a popup of all the request by the logged in Tech, and nothing to do with the Requester.
And finally, why can I not edit the User Name at all? What if their name is spelt wrong by the Tech etc?
and "Reconcile Contact" should also give the option to combine requests from multiple contacts, into the one contact. Edit: I have since worked out that Reconcile does actually combine the requests, but still does not always update the Acc.
