Unable to get data for directory monitoring
Well, on most of the servers I'm configuring anyway. I have a number of CentOS Linux virtuals under VMWare and I'm trying to configure monitors to observe disk information.
Configuring a local server is a breeze; I can't seem to configure a remote server though. For example, I've set up a monitor to keep an eye on /usr. I've created an appmanager user account, set the password, set SSH mode (using a non-standard port) and used the default prompt. The directory name is /usr.
Once I click on Update, I get the following error message:
Directory Removed.Kindly create Support Information File under
That's it. Very cryptic. Nothing on Google. Subsequent polls returns the same result along with:
Successfully started polling the monitor. Please wait for few seconds and refresh the page to see the latest status of the Monitor.
... directly below. So what's happening here? I'm tailing /var/log/secure and get this status:
Aug 11 11:57:15 server01 sshd[10713]: Did not receive identification string from 10.x.x.x
Aug 11 11:57:26 server01 sshd[10714]: Accepted password for appmanager from 10.x.x.x.x port 38242 ssh2
Aug 11 11:57:26 server01 sshd[10714]: pam_unix(sshd:session): session opened for user appmanager by (uid=0)
Aug 11 11:57:32 server01 sshd[10717]: Received disconnect from 10.x.x.x: 11: Terminating connection
Aug 11 11:57:32 server01 sshd[10714]: pam_unix(sshd:session): session closed for user appmanager
Is it the non-standard port? I can't use 22 because it's an internet-facing server (on day on 22 and the attacks were relentless). Is there something else I'm missing?
