Unable to Disable MAPI Protocol for Mailboxes – No Change After Supposed Success

Hi,

I'm facing an issue while trying to disable the MAPI protocol for some mailboxes using ManageEngine ADManager Plus.

Details:

  • I can successfully enable or disable IMAP and POP3 protocols.

  • I can also enable MAPI, and the change is applied correctly.

  • However, when I try to disable MAPI, the interface shows a success message, but no actual change is made. The protocol remains enabled.

Environment:

  • Exchange version: [Exchange Server 2019 CU15]

  • ADManager Plus version: [Build Version 8021]

  • Protocol management being done via: [GUI in ADManager Plus]

Steps Tried:

  • Repeated the action for multiple users.

  • Verified the change using PowerShell and EAC — MAPI remains enabled.

  • I can disable MAPI via PowerShell and EAC.

  • Restarted ADManager services, Update to latest version and tried again — same result.

Could you please help identify why only MAPI cannot be disabled, even though the operation reports success? Is this a known issue or is there a specific configuration needed?
