Unable to connect to Oracle Server. Error Message: 7

hello!

i'am trying to make a new oracle db monitor. the oracle database i want to monitor runs under suse linux enterprise server 9. the oracle version is 9.2.0.5.

the applikation manager runs under linux. when i make a oracle monitor where the database runs under windows, the monitor creation is sucessfull. if i try the same with an database running oder linux, the following error is shown:

Unable to connect to Oracle Server. Error Message: 7

i've controlled allmost everything like tns names, listener configuration....

now i've found that in the logfile
/opt/AdventNet1/ME/AppManager6/logs/nms/stderr5.txt
the following error appears:

so the message with java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 7 will be the problem?

EDIT:
this error does not occur when i make a new monitor with an database running under WINDOWS.

i've also tried to run the application manager under windows. but same error there.

any help?
