We are running OpManager build# 11500 and currently have an issue when trying to
update/change the "
Category" value for a device.
Under the Device Details tab for an individual device we do the following:
- Click on "Edit" icon (top right hand side)
- In the "Category" drop-down list select a new category
- Click on "OK"
At the end of the process we do get an "
Info" message at the top indicating "
Field values are successfully updated to the database". However, the category value
doesn't change.
An example device with this issue is a server that we currently have under category "
IaaS" which was created with inherited monitoring properties from the "
Server" category. We are attempting to change the category from
IaaS to
Server in this example.
Alternatively we have also tried to "
Import" the device into the desired category e.g. "Server" using the "
Infrastructure Views" under Maps. This gives a similar result in that all the steps complete without error but the value is not changed.
OpManager was recently migrated to use a MSSQL backend.
