Unable to backup HP Procurve Switch 4000m and 8000m

I'm trying to backup configs for serveral network devices on my network. I've got some Switches from Cisco, HP and D-Link. Nearly all switches are able to be backuped, only the HP Procurve Switch 4000m and 8000m aren't. When I set the credentials for these two switches and update them, DeviceExpert starts to backup the configs, but never ends oder breaks up. Even an error-message is not displayed! It just continues backing up the 4000m and 8000m on and on...
I think it has something to do with the management-menu of the switches. Since they have no typical CLI, but an ASCII-based telnet-mangagement-menu, DeviceExpert is maybe unable to send commands to the switch. So I guess the login is correct and a connection can be established, but the switch doesn't accept the commands send by the DeviceExpert so the session never ends.
But this is just an idea of me and even I'm on the right way, I've no clue how to solve this problem because the telnet-management-menu on the switches can not be turned off (like on the ProCurve 2524 f.e.).
So does anybody has an idea or had the same problem and solved it?
