Trouble with the manager custom attribute

Trouble with the manager custom attribute

I'm trying to run a report in admanager plus that will give the users manager, and the custom attribute I've created works to some extent- when I view a single user the field shows up and is properly populated. However when actually running a report it only shows up as empty.

Any ideas?
