Trigger actions after password change

Hello Guys,
i am currently implementing ADSSP for a customer and now I need everyone to change their password in the system to sync it with active directory (and office 365). The problem is that i have to know when a person changes the password to start the sync to office 365 so that the users dont loose access to their office365 accounts.
My Idea is that I have a task that triggers after the user changes the password.
I know i can to that via the Eventlog with a little bit of powershell but i think it would be better to trigger it from ADSSP.
So my question: Is this possible? Is there some kind of API or can i checke the Database for enrolled users?
