we have been a customer of manage engine for the past 4 years.
we started with service desk plus when the cost was very low.
we needed software to manage desktops and their was several but we decided to go with manage engine because we thought the inventory information and the desktop agent could integrate with servicedesk plus.
We had looked at kace and kace had the ability to have a software, support and request history of specific machines.
We quickly found out after purchasing the software that it couldnt do any of this. We asked for there features to be added. Most of them were added.
after updating both pieces of software our users could submit tickets to service desk plus via the desktop central wiget and service desk plus could get inventory information from desktop central.
This year we update the software to the latest version only to find that some of these features were having problems. So we called manage engine support only to have them release patch after patch and have us apply them and not have the problem solved. Then this morning we get a support person that tells us oh yeah its not working because thats a feature that is only available in the enterprise version.
i told the person thank you but your mistaken il call back. i check the website it doesnt say integration was only enterprise on the comparison page.
we wrote to support and they came back to the same answer. This made me really furious.
We have been a customer for year, we have been buying alot of there products ( admanage plus, password manager) looking to buy more products from them. Only to find now that for two of there products to work together we have to be on the highest version of both.
I have to see what legal recourse we have in this matter, because i feel that we have been robbed by this company.
Desktop central's value for us was its integration or perceived integration with service desk plus. Now that we have to upgrade to us it i think we are going to buy a kbox from kace.
Kace makes patch management alot better.
