You can configure ADSelfService Plus to delete outdated log files and and database backups after a specified amount of time, to automatically declutter your files and free-up disk space.
Please follow the instructions below to configure automatic file cleanups.
Deleting outdated database backups automatically
The Backup Settings feature can be used to both schedule automatic database backups as well as delete outdated database backups automatically. To automate the removal of old database backups, follow the instructions below:
Log in to the ADSelfService Plus admin portal and navigate to Admin > Product Settings > Backup Settings.
Use the Retain Backup Files drop-down to enable auto-cleanup by setting the backup file retention period based on either the number of files or the age of the files (in days).
Note: If you wish to retain all your database backup files indefinitely, select All Files from the Retain Backup Files drop-down.
Click Save Settings.
Deleting outdated log files automatically
You can also schedule old and outdated log files to be deleted automatically. To do so,
Log in to the ADSelfService Plus admin portal and navigate to Admin > Product Settings > Connection > General Settings.
Under Startup and Logging Settings, select Enable Log Retention for <number> Days and specify the number of days for which you want to retain log files in the text box. Log files older than the specified number of days will be removed.
Note: If this option is enabled but the number of days left unspecified, the log files will be retained for 365 days. If this option is not enabled, log files will be retained indefinitely and will use up disk space.
Click Save Settings.
