The purpose of formatted text on an email or ticket reply is to enhance the presentation of information. Good formatting distinguishes different parts of your text and helps viewers take in your message. You can apply formatting on every element of the content, from a single character to an entire paragraph. Body text needs to be readable and easy on the eyes. 


Headings should be big and bold, and they should also be consistent throughout the document. Important lines need to be highlighted. Quotes and references should be set off from the other text. Font Style

 


Simple text formatting helps to highlight important concepts within a mail or reply and make it more readableUsing italics, bold, or underlined words can change the perception of the reader. 
  • Bold B- The bold tag is used for strong emphasis, which is usually heavier than the surrounding text.
  • Italic I - Italicises the selected text which usually appears slanted to the right Italics are used in the conversational type of sentences and dialogues.
  • Underline U - Underlined text is commonly used to help draw attention to a particular word or sentence in the content. Today, underlines are commonly used to represent a hyperlink on a web page.
  • Strikethrough - Strikethrough is a font effect that causes text to appear as though it is crossed out. Strikethrough is often used to indicate text that is no longer valid in a mail or on a ticket conversation.

Font Family, Font Size, Font Color, and Background color 



The fonts add value to your text. It helps readers to perceive information from the text. The correct choice of color, font, and size will be vital for attraction for viewers. Using a contrasting color can help you highlight important information to direct your viewer’s attention to it.
  • Font Familyyou can choose the style of the text for the selected section.
  • Font Size  - you can choose the size of the text for the selected section.
  • Font Color  - you can choose the color of the text for the selected section.
  • Background Color - you can change the color of the area behind the text.

Subscript and Superscript



  • Subscript  - A subscript is a character, symbol or number set slightly below the normal line of text. It is always smaller than the usual font and is typically found in mathematical or scientific formulas.
  • Superscript - A superscript is a character, symbol or number set slightly above the normal line of text. It is always smaller than the usual font and is typically found in mathematical or scientific formulas. 

Font Style Options







Text alignment primarily places the cursor or aligns the text with the different margins of the content. There are four different types of text alignment
  • Align Left – Aligns the beginning of lines with the left-hand side of the text field.
  • Align Center  Aligns the middle of lines with the center of the text field.
  • Align Right – Aligns the end of lines with the right-hand side of the text field.
  • Justify – Increases spacing between words so that lines of sufficient length touch both sides of the text field.

List options



List options button has two functions "Bullets" and "Numbering", they can add impact to your content and help organize information.
  • Bullets - To convert existing text to a bulleted list, select the text, and then click the Insert/Remove Bullets list button.
  • Numbering - To convert existing text to a numbered list, select the text and then click the Insert/Remove Numbering list button

Indent Options



Indent options button has two functions "Increase Indent" and "Decrease Indent", You can increase/decrease the left indent of lines and paragraphs to structure your content better.

Remove Formatting 



Remove formatting button, will remove all formatting done to the selected text, and leave you with the default font, size and style. 

Insert Quote 



Insert Quotes - using this function, you can highlight selected text with some special formatting styles to help it stand out from the rest of your text.


Insert and Remove link 



  • Insert Link - Using this function you can select text and convert it into a hyperlink.
  • Remove link - Using this function you can remove embedded hyperlink from the selected text.


Insert Horizontal Rule and Insert table


  • Insert Horizontal Rules - Using this function, you can add a horizontal line at the chosen point that stretches to both sides of the text box regardless of size.
  • Insert Table -Tables are an efficient way to present information. You can insert a quick table into your mail or content by selecting the number of rows and columns.

Insert Image



Insert Images - Using this function, you can insert images into the content, through "Upload from Disk" or "Link from Web (URL)" options. To insert an image, place the cursor where you want the image to go and click on the Insert Image button. 

Insert Simley  



Simley gives a range of small images that can be added to represent feelings or emotions to your content or mail.

Check Spelling 



Check Spelling, lets you know when words are mistyped and provide suggestions to correct mistyped words.
