Time of Alerting.

I am trying the trial version of Desktop Central 6 Build 60118.
I am interesting to understand how work the alerting when I schedule the daily inventory scan to 13:00. What happen if in that time the computer will be offline? When I receive an alert about installed software or hardware, when it goes online or when next scan will performed.
And how about everyhour inventory scan? My company interesting in that.
