Definition — What is PPC Marketing?

Pay-Per-Click Marketing is an online advertising model that has been designed to drive traffic to websites. Advertisers pay a set fee every time internet users click on a PPC. This marketing has become one of the best ways by which an e-commerce website can advertise brands and commodities to attract potential customers. In fact, a study by Hanapin Marketing in 2019 suggests that 79% of all the surveyed marketers believe that PPC is extremely beneficial for businesses. Whether it’s drawing individual consumers to a website to buy a product or convincing a decision-maker at another organization to enter into a contract for services, PPC has a major influence.

The Pay-Per-Click model is primarily based on keywords. When a user enters a search term that is tied to a list of keywords chosen by the advertiser, the promotional material is displayed. This approach is most commonly seen in search engines, like Bing and Google. Google’s PPC advertisements display at the top of the list of search results, marked by a small box that reads “ad” This type of advertisement can also appear on individual web pages and is often marked with a phrase like “sponsored ad” to indicate the nature of the link presented. Thus PPC advertising is an amazing way to reach a highly targeted audience quickly. Through platforms such as Google, Bing, Facebook, Instagram, and many more, you can set up paid ads in seconds.
