"Endpoint Protection"

Definition — What is Endpoint Protection and why is it crucial today?

Endpoint protection is a term often used interchangeably with endpoint security. It refers to the approach of protecting an endpoint business network when accessed by remote devices like smartphones, laptops, tablets or other wireless devices.

Every device which can connect to a network poses considerable danger. As these devices are placed outside of the corporate firewall on the edge of the network using which individuals have to connect to the central network, they are called endpoints that can be exploited by malicious actors.

Endpoint security is crucial for businesses irrespective of their size. Cybercriminals are constantly devising new ways to take advantage of employees, infiltrate networks, and steal private information.

One of the most compelling arguments for robust endpoint security in today’s environment is that 70 percent of the most successful breaches originate at the endpoint. And, in today’s work from home (WFH) landscape, more employees are connecting to internal networks from endpoints outside the office than ever before.
