What is CSIRT?
Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), also know as Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) is group that is responsible for exposing and averting cyber attacks that target an organization.
This group is usually comprised of members from within the organization that is carefully selected and well trained to effectively manage the incident so that the damage is limited and both recovery time and costs, as well as collateral damage such as brand reputation, are kept at a minimum.
They are also responsible for the following critical functions: investigation and analysis, communications, training, and awareness as well as documentation and timeline development.
