Technician Group access rights per site

Hello,

I'm currently having issues assigning permissions to a particular group of Technicians on a particular site.

SDP was installed over 2 years ago when there were fewer options for Technicians/Site Association, and Technician Groups. At the time, separate Technician Groups were created per site. We have 6 sites.

Since then, 'Copy Default Settings' and 'Refer to Default Settings' have been introduced for Sites, and as our rules don't differ across our sites it made sense to simplify things and set all Sites to 'Refer to Default Settings'. That way if I made a change to a rule it would (should) affect all sites. This is not the case.

I've recently created 3 new Technicians who only require access to one Technician group, across all sites. I expected to only have to assign them to the Technician Group listed under the Default Settings. This does not work, and they were missing requests from some of the sites. I've then had to Copy Default Settings for the sites they were missing, add them to the Technician Group, and then they have access to the required requests. I am also then able to re-set the site back so it is set to 'Refer to Default Settings' and it then continues to work.

Why does the 'Refer to Default Settings' not work??
