Technical Support -- SQL Database Monitor

I am trying to monitor a SQL2005 DB with Applications Manager and everything appears to work until polling starts. I get this message "Problem in collecting data for the current status of MSSQL server. Refer Troubleshooting" and no data is returned. I am using the sa id/pw to monitor and the database is set to mixed mode. I monitor other SQL2005 and SQL2000 DB's with no problems.

I set a trace on the db to monitor failed logins and this is the message that is returned when I set up the monitor, "Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection." Which is strange because I specified an id and it returns a blank.
