I have several Cisco access switches that are monitored by Opmanager. Every time a user unplugs their laptop or it gets shut off we get an alert. This is not optimal as we get hundereds of alerts a day. I have read the forums and the solution has been to unmanage the ports. I do not want to do this since I want to continue to gather performance statistics on these ports.
I have seen the ability to change the criticality of certain interface rules but I dont want to change the rules for interfaces on servers. If a servers interface goes down it's a big deal, but if an access port on a switch goes down it is not.
Is there a way to modify rulesets for switch interfaces and NOT effect server interface rules at the same time?
