Switch Ports Operationally Down

Hi there

I have a number of Dell switches that we use in our network and monitor with OpManager without any issues.

I have recently added a new switch to the team and it reports all the ports that have nothing in them as operationally down.

I have a number of other switches that only report as down when something was there and no is not there any more. However with this new switch I am getting errors saying that ports that have never had anything plugged in are operationally down. Here is the specific error message:

Ports 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 49, 50, 52 are down

I've had a look around the forum and seen that you could uncheck status polling, but I am not sure I want to do that as I would have to remember to go in and reconfigure the ports for status polling each time I add a new device.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do here? I did have this problem with an old Cisco switch in the past but it seemed to cure itself after a while.
