Summary Report Help

We are trying to build a report that shows us details on a request (RequestID, contact, open date, close date, etc) and also information from the time spent fields.  I've tried working on a customer query report, but in the end it's not showing what I need.  Can anyone assist?

Here is the basic layout that I am hoping to achieve:
Report by Account (single account created)
- Section by Additional Field
--Request Information
---Time Entry Details

Each Request Info would be a line with sub lines underneath for each time entry.

An alternate (more compact) would just have a field for a total of the time entry items for a request.

This seems like a pretty basic report (total amount of time spent on each request for a particular customer), but because of the way the report "modules" are broken out I can't seem to get what I'm looking for in anything other than a big grid.
