Stopping a running process
We are currently evaluating the Desktop Central product to do software installs/uninstalls. I am trying to perform a remote uninstall of Blackberry Desktop Manager, but am running into an issue where it fails if the program is running. Since this is a program that is always running on the desktop, this creates an issue.
To resolve this, I tried using PSKILL.exe from Microsoft and scripting it to kill that process, however I cannot make it run from the network share. I have also tried scripting it to copy the files locally to the workstation, then executing it, but the preuninstall routine keeps failing. All of these things that I have tried were part of the pre-uninstall routing on the software package.
Does anyone have a recommended way to A) execute the VBS scripts from a network location, and B) how to kill a process before performing the uninstall?
Thanks,
Dave
