starting client

I have installed opManager on two machines. One is a xp x64 which there were absolutlely no problems. It load up and works perfect. The problem is that the xp pro i loaded it on has some real issues. First off the server shows started in the service panel, but the client won't start. Either it shows the page is unavailable (error 404) or it shows a certificate error then the 404 error. I can work around all this by physically going to the \bin file starting the server which shows up in the command window, then i start the Map page then the client will start with all the devices showing.
If i try to start the client before i start the Map the client will start but with no settings at all. The devices that i have configured are not there. If i close the commnd window the client will go back to a 404 error.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall and i get the same errors.
What can i do to make it work correctly.
