This forum post is to announce that the team is aware of a minor issue arising in certain Desktop Central servers and it has been resolved. Below are the details:

Issue:

Tableau Prep Builder patch gets installed on machines that didn't have Tableau Prep Builder application installed.

Affected Patches :

*The affected patches have now been marked as NOT SUPPORTED and hence are not available in the server.

Resolution :

Method 1:

Uninstallation bat file to uninstall Tableau Prep Builder for DC Customers. Click here to download the bat file.

Steps to deploy the bat file:

1.Navigate to Configuration

2.Click Custom Script -> Computer

3.Upload the script and select Run as User

Command line arguments :

To uninstall Tableau prep 2021:

Tableau_Prep_Uninstall.bat tableauPrep2021

To uninstall Tableau prep 2022:

Tableau_Prep_Uninstall.bat tableauPrep2022

To uninstall Both:

Tableau_Prep_Uninstall.bat tableauPrep2022 tableauPrep2021

Method 2:

Patches to uninstall the product from the affected machines:

*Patches will be available after a successful Patch DB sync.

These patches will only be available in Supported Patches. If needed, you can deploy the patches from there as per requirements (i.e. Tableau Prep Builder 2021 Uninstall, Tableau Prep Builder 2022 Uninstall or both).

Finding the product that got installed :

After a successful patch scan, the installed product (i.e. Tableau Prep Builder 2021 or Tableau Prep Builder 2022) will be listed in Installed Patches.

Dependency product uninstallation patch details :

Patch ID	Patch Description
109619	Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server Uninstall
109620	psqlODBC_64 Uninstall
109621	Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) - 12.0.40649 Uninstall

#Patches will be available after a successful Patch DB sync and can be found in Supported Patches.

Steps to deploy Patches:

If you need to uninstall dependency products :

Deploy the dependency product uninstallation patches first (PatchIDs: 109619, 109620 and 109621)
Next, deploy the Tableau Prep Builder uninstallation patches (PatchIDs: 109617 and 109618)

If you don't need to uninstall dependency products, you can deploy Tableau Prep Builder uninstallation patches directly (PatchIDs: 109617 and 109618).
