Software license management enhancements
Dear All,
Apart from individual and enterprise licensing, support for below two types of licensing would be available from SDP 7.6.
1. Volume Licensing : Where multiple installations can be configured for a license.
2. CAL (Client Access License) : All Microsoft related CAL types would be supported. They are Per seat - Device, Per seat - User, Per Server, Per Processor, Per Mailbox.
Following are some of the features that would be supported in the near future in software license management :
1. OEM licensing.
2. Suite licensing : As of now there is an option to perform only version grouping. With this there would be an option to perform suite grouping too like you can group MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint etc to create MS Office suite. So license can be associated to this group instead of individual software and compliance can be tracked.
3. Notifying technicians in case of license expiry.
Kindly post your other requirements in software license management and priorities under this forum post so that we shall analyze and if required re-prioritize the requirements as per your needs.
