Setting up Service Desk on a server to be remote accessible

I may seem stupid when I say that I'm new to web servers, but I've been assigned to find out how to set up Service Desk Plus on a server in our network and make it remote accessible to groups we service without having to enter the box through remote desktop connection. Any ideas on how I would do this. Bear in mind I dont know how to set up a web server to host service desk plus to make it publically accessible. I have a website that can link to it, but the website is through an affiliate.
