Setting up ESXi monitor fails

Setting up ESXi monitor fails

When I try to setup an ESXi monitor for either of our two ESXi hosts it never works and always immediately returns:

 

Please crosscheck whether 1). Host server is running properly 2). Host server port is accessible. If the server is behind firewall and if not accessible, then open the port by configuring firewall.

 

Is there anything I have to do on the ESXi host itself?  What is the monitor actually trying to connect to?  Is it trying to connect to the https://xxx/mob/ interface?  I can hit it with a browser just fine.


I'm running:
Applications Manager 11, build 11010, on Windows Server 2008 64bit.
