Setting Alarms and Groups with a Database Query?
Hey Guys!
So, I work for a company that uses Applications Manager a bit too heavily. We have three environments due to the number of monitors; and the current offerings in v. 12600 don't quite fit our needs. For example, we have approximately 5,000 monitors for each of our admin servers, and in these instances, we need to add a specific subset of monitors to an "Implementation Systems" group. Doing so through the GUI would take forever to hunt and peck through with a reference spreadsheet open.
Can someone help me out in understanding the database schema on the backend? I'd much rather take my list I have in Excel, craft it into a single long statement (EX: "OR monitor_name='server3' OR monitor_name='server4', etc...); and then just hit go.
Same kind of thing for alerts. We have a number of servers, all of which are application servers. However some servers need different alerting profiles and threshold values based on information not in the actual Applications Manager system. This was time consuming in 12100, and now is impossible in 12600 with the removal of "Apply to similar monitors".
So, anyone an expert on the database schema of Applications Manager? I've figured out where it stores the actual threshold and action values; and I've figured out where it stores the actual managed objects; not much more than that, and I really don't have time at my job to hunt through the thousands of tables they have in their backend.
