Hi Guys,
We've noticed a recent trend with our new machines we've deployed. Some machines are picked up by the AssetExplorer Agent during our weekly automated Domain Scan, but others fail.
The Windows image on these machine are deployed from a base image we use on all machines.
The below example is from the aeagent.log file from one machine that reports (what I think) is a successful transfer back to or SDP server.
[06/16/15][12:39:47][FileAccess.cpp][79][INFO][1772] ::Success in opening a file C:\Program Files (x86)\ManageEngine\AssetExplorer\bin\agentdata.xml to readEntireFile.
[06/16/15][12:39:47][httphandler.cpp][478][INFO][1772] ::InternetSendRequestEx : AssetExplorer Server -> SDPSERVER
[06/16/15][12:39:47][httphandler.cpp][479][INFO][1772] ::InternetSendRequestEx : AssetExplorer Server Port-> 8080
[06/16/15][12:39:47][httphandler.cpp][480][INFO][1772] ::InternetSendRequestEx : URL to Post -> /discoveryServlet/WsDiscoveryServlet?computerName=ARM-16601&agentId=PCNAME_1409028462870
[06/16/15][12:39:47][httphandler.cpp][701][INFO][1772] ::InternetSendRequestEx : Successfully posted the data to the server SDPSERVER
Although it reports a success, I still cant see the machine in our list of assets.
Is there anything we can check to get a definitive answer as to why some new machines have this issue and others don't?
Agent Version: 1.0.18
SDP Version: 9027
** I originally thought this issue was related to an aeagent.log entry where 'Attempt to connect to the server Failed' but I later realized this was not the case **
Another thing I noticed are machines that have the older version of the Agent (1.0.12) appear under the 'Server / Workstation with: No Agent Installed', and not under the 'Older Agents Installed' list. I'm also noticing a lot of '_old' machines which I tried troubleshooting earlier but it never followed through. Im finding a lot of machines with _old but they have no service tag, no mac address, and no agent id that are still being copied with _old_1, though this is a separate issue in itself.
Cheers
