ServiceDesk Service Catalog template questions

ServiceDesk Service Catalog template questions

We have spent a lot of time constructing a number of templates for use in the Service Catalog. Now, a few questions.

1. We would like to either lock or hide the Category from the user, so that the user cannot change this. We still want to view the subcategory and item, and the user can change these as needed. It appears that locking (or hiding) the category also locks or hides the subcategory and item.

2. We have several sites, each with their own set of templates and categories. But, I don't see a way to restrict a user from changing a category from the wrong site. Because we can't lock the categories, a user could select a template from the "Seattle" site, then change the category to one assigned to the "Portland" site. Again, this problem could be fixed if we could lock the category without locking the subcategory.

3. I like the "Additional Resources" section. But, is there any way to set this as "required"? We will be using this feature to collect template-specific information.

Thanks for any feedback!
