ServiceDesk Plus (Issues with PM tasks and IE)

I've been using ME ServiceDesk Plus since late last year but recently have experienced a couple of very annoying issues.
Firstly, I have about 15 PM (Preventative Maintenance) tasks set up to run on a daily or weekly schedule. For some reason, they run fine for a while and then just stop - no mails are sent and no new tasks raised. I've tried server restarts etc but no change. All other mail from SD+ are sent through exchange without issue - it's only the PM tasks that are not working.
Secondly, SD+ won't display in Internet Explorer at all, only works with Firefox. I've tried different versions of IE with varying security settings but still having no joy with it at all.
Currently using the most recent build after ME Support suggested we upgrade to 7.20.
This has been ongoing for a couple of months now and my line manager has already raised to ME support but has so far had very little assistance.
Any help/advice much appreciated - is anyone else seeing the same problems?
