Service monitoring options
What are the options for monitoring a non-microsoft service?
I understand that you can use WMI to monitor Microsoft services, and you can monitor services that listen on a particular TCP port.
Is it possible to monitor a 3rd party service that doesn't listen on a TCP port?
A customer of ours has some services running on their servers that they would like to monitor so they know when the services go down.
What are my options for this?
