Service Monitoring: Resource not available

Service Monitoring: Resource not available

Hi,

I have an applications which I want to monitor with the Applications Manager. You can send "STAT" to this application via TCP at port 9000 and the application will answer "STAT:OK" if everything is ok. For example if I use "telnet myAppServer 9000" on the server where the ApplicationsManager is installed, I can call the "STAT" command and get the "STAT:OK" response.
In the ApplicationsManager I use the "Service Monitoring" Monitor, using "STAT" as the command and "STAT:OK" as the search string. I assume that I'm entering the correct network connection parameters. I assign the new monitor to a group, save it and poll it once. The result is "The Service is not available in Port:9000", the state of the monitor is something like this "Resource not active". (Our Applications Manager is actually installed in German, so I don't know the exact English messag texts)
I wonder why. Because in the log files of my application I can see, that there is a "STAT"-Request from the Applications Montitor server coming in and being handled correctly. So I assume, the application correctly responds "STAT:OK".

Is there any possibility to see, what exactly is happening with the Applications Monitor when it polls my application via the monitor?

What does the Applications Monitor actually receive as response?

Might it be a character encoding problem?

What would happen if I left empty the search string in the monitor definition? Would the Applications Monitor just test the existance of a server at the defined location?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
