Service Desk, Desktop Central Integration

I have integrated my Service desk and Desktop Central and now I'm not sure what to do next. They both have indicated that they are communicating with each other. I want to ensure that desktop central is scanning the systems and updating the assets in Service desk. 
  1. How will I be able to ensure that this is happening. I have selected this option in service desk?
  2. Can i initiate a manual scan from within the service desk??
  3. If a new asset is added to desktop central will it be automatically added to the service desk?
  4. Anything else that i need to know that is important??
