Service Alert Issue

I recently installed and configured OpManager to monitor a few specific services on a remote server. I am able to monitor the services but when I try to associate a email alert to these services, they do not show up in the check boxes of selectable services.

I am curious how I would go about adding a alert to a specific service that does not show up through the normal process.

I have looked through the FAQ/Help and followed procedure, but could not associate the email alert to that specific service - it was not selectable even though it was being monitored.

Any information on how I would go about this would be greatly appreciated.
