Sending Email

Very strange this... POP3/SMTP settings are correct and emails are correctly being collected and created as new requests. If I use the 'Email the Requester' option all is good (which makes me think its not a problem with SMTP settings) but even though I have ticked the notification rules such as 'Acknowledge Requester by email when a request is received' and 'Notify technician by email when request is assigned' nothing seems to be sending.

Any ideas?
