Sending Alerts to SMS

We had a problem on sending Alert messages to an SMS sending server. This is the scenario :
-When we send test email to the SMS server, the message content is OK.
-When we started generating alerts from Application Manager ver 7, and send to SMS server, the message is garbage.
- The SMS or handphone number is linked to an email address. When we send email from Lotus Notes to the specified email, we can receive SMS on the handphone. When we generate alerts from Apps Manager, and send to the SMS server, the message is GARBAGE.
- We have tried sending email in Plain Text, HTML, Both and SMS format (thru SMS sending)

Our problem is why Application Manager is sending gargabe messaged to the SMS server ? What is email format that Apps Manager is sending ? Is it MIME or UTF8 or what ?
